Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Public Works Maintenance Manager, the Public Works Laborer is responsible for performing a variety of semi-skilled maintenance work associated with waste management and street and facility maintenance duties Employees are required to perform heavy physical labor in outdoor weather conditions, using a variety of tools and equipment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist when installing, repairing, and servicing equipment; perform simple and power grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation; and lift or carry weight of 75 pounds without assistance, push/pull objects up to150 pounds.
Safety Hazards:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a field environment in various weather conditions with noise, chemicals, electrical energy or radiant energy, odors, vibrations, poor lighting, in hazardous areas, slippery uneven surfaces and in/around moving machinery and vehicles.
