Project Overview: The Town of Berwyn Heights is requesting proposals from construction firms to
design, plan, and manage the renovations of a new storage building and picnic pavilion at the Sports
Park fields. The current structure on the Town-owned property no longer serves the needs of the Town
or the Berwyn Heights Boys & Girls Club. The Town is looking to build a multi-use structure with a
covered picnic area attached to a large storage space with field lighting controls. There is no plumbing
anticipated with this project. The site is adjacent to Maryland National Capital Park & Planning
Commission-owned property.
Scope of Work: Qualified applicants should be able to provide the following services to the Town:
• Complete construction plans and designs based on the attached 60% design.
• Obtain proper permitting for the construction and completion of a site survey.
• Raze the existing storage structure.
• Installation of temporary field lighting controls during construction (currently housed in storage
structure)
• Work with the Maryland National Capital Park & Planning Commission to gain access to the
site and minimize the impact of construction on their adjoining property.
• Build the new storage building/picnic pavilion structure.
• Installation of electrical outlets and LED lighting.
• Installation of landscaping around the new structure.
• Potential installation of 150ft of 6ft privacy fencing.
Budget: The Town plans for the project's total cost to be between $265,000 and $300,000, including
construction costs, permitting, design, and landscaping.
Deadline: Responses to this RFP are to be submitted by Monday, November 25th, 2024, at 9am.
