Project Overview: The Town of Berwyn Heights is requesting proposals from qualified architectural and construction firms to design, plan, and manage the construction renovations of the 2nd Flood of the Berwyn Heights Town Center located at 8603 57th Ave Berwyn Heights MD 20740. Once the Town’s fire house, the 2nd Floor now serves as a flexible space for Town events, groups, meetings, and rental to residents. It includes two bathrooms, a commercial kitchen, and elevator access with a 115-person capacity.
Scope of Work: Qualified applicants should be able to provide the following services to the Town:
Work with Town Staff and Elected Officials on the designs and upgrades to the 2nd floor.
Obtain proper permitting for the construction.
Provide a general facelift to the 2nd Floor of Town Center.
New ceiling including dimmable LED recessed lights, HVAC vents, sprinklers, and anchor points for hanging decorations.
AV Upgrades, including built-in sounds & speaker system, wall mounted TV(s) for presentation.
General upgrades to the two bathrooms and conversion to unisex bathrooms for optimal usage.
General upgrades to the commercial kitchen, including flooring, cabinets, and other non-appliance upgrades.
Build a new storage room into the existing recessed space where tables and chairs are currently stored.
New flooring, preferably sound absorbing to help insulate any sound to the floor below.
New doors and roll-up serving door.
Preserve, refresh, and highlight the existing Town and County seals mounted to the walls.
Installation of new commercial-grade window treatment.
Potential removal of the existing baseboard heaters and conversion into a split system for heating and cooling.
Fur-out exterior masonry walls to provide flexibility for electrical receptacles and switch locations and more
