Building Custodian (Part Time)

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Part-time 

Reports to: Senior Building Custodian 

Grade: 4 NM, EIP 

Salary range- $ 55,551 – 83,325 

 

Summary

This position involves some physically demanding manual and semi-skilled tasks for janitorial and maintenance work after hours and on weekends, as necessary. The employee will clean and maintain all Town municipal buildings and grounds using proper cleaning methods and materials. Responsibilities include cleaning floors, walls, windows, restrooms, and equipment and performing minor repairs and maintenance tasks. Equipment used includes but is not limited to cleaning tools and power-operated machinery. The employee will also monitor after-hours building activities, secure facilities, and assist with groundskeeping tasks. General tasks and additional work will be assigned by a designated supervisor. The position may require occasional overtime, with performance evaluated annually.  

 

A high school diploma (or GED) and one year of experience in custodial or maintenance work are required. Strong communication skills, physical stamina, and knowledge of safety procedures are necessary. 

 

This position may require an incumbent to pass a DOT physical and background check satisfactorily.
