Communications Specialist I

The Westminster Police Department is seeking a full-time Communications Specialist I (Police Dispatcher). This skilled position is responsible for the receipt and processing of emergency and non-emergency calls for public safety services, timely and accurate deployment of police personnel using computer-aided dispatch (CAD). 

Candidates must have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent; 
  • Ability to pass a criminal background investigation; 
  • Ability to complete timely data-entry and to navigate various computer interfaces; and 
  • Possess strong communications and public-relations skills. 

Pay Rate: $21.74/hour; Non-Exempt.

Hours: 40 hours/week; rotating shifts (day and evening)
