The City of Bowie is accepting applications for an Equipment Operator, Sr., in the Parks and Grounds Division of Community Services. The selected candidate will be responsible in the operation of specialized grounds maintenance and construction equipment, e.g., front-end loader, tractor mounted grass-cutting equipment, sports field renovation implements, and truck mounted snowplow, etc. Knowledge of the rules of safe operation and the precautions to be taken to avoid accidents in the operation of heavy equipment. Ability to maintain positive working relationships with other employees and supervisors.  Must obtain Class A non-restricted CDL within 90 days of hire.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Two (2) years of experience operating heavy automotive equipment or equivalent combination  of education and experience.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting, operate heavy equipment and handle objects and controls.
  • Valid CDL motor vehicle license from the state in which applicant resides.

 

Salary: $26.24 HOURLY
