The Town of Riverdale Park is seeking a strategic, hands-on Communications Manager to lead the Town's community engagement. This is more than a communications role—it’s a leadership position responsible for ensuring residents, businesses, and stakeholders receive clear, timely, and trusted information.

What You’ll Do
- Lead and execute the Town’s communications and public engagement strategy
- Serve as the primary media contact and manage all public information requests, including MPIA
- Write, edit, and deliver high-quality content across all platforms—press releases, newsletters, website, and official communications
- Produce and oversee the Town Crier and digital communications (email, social media, website)
- Record and prepare official meeting minutes for Mayor & Council and Boards/Commissions
- Manage branding, messaging, and visual identity across all Town communications
- Coordinate marketing and outreach for Town programs, services, and initiatives
- Oversee multimedia production (video, photography, cable programming)
- Monitor engagement metrics and adjust strategies based on performance
- Build and maintain strong relationships with media, residents, businesses, and community stakeholders
- Support real-time communications during emergencies and critical incidents
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of five (5) years of professional communications, media relations, or public information experience
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills
- Experience managing digital platforms, websites, and social media
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under pressure
- Strong judgment, discretion, and attention to detail
What You Need to Know
- Valid driver’s license required
- CPR, AED, and First Aid certification required within 12 months
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and during emergencies as needed
