The City of Bowie is seeking a dependable and motivated individual for the position of Equipment Operator within the Public Works Department’s Street Maintenance Division. The successful candidate will drive dump trucks hauling bituminous patch material and participate in concrete pours and the asphalt patching of potholes. Other duties may include supervising employees assigned their trucks as helpers. Ability to operate rollers, skid steer, loaders, and/or other equipment may be required, as well as the ability to operate truck-mounted snowplow and other snow removal equipment as necessary during some weather events. Must be able to work extended hours during weather-related and other emergencies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • One year of experience working in a construction-related
  • Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods in all weather
  • Possession of a Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience performing heavy manual labor in a construction, maintenance, landscaping, or related environment.
  • Snow removal
  • Concrete and/or asphalt

PAY RATE: $23.49/ HOURLY
