NOTICE TO APPLICANTS
ENGINEERING SPECIALIST
The City of Cumberland will be accepting applications for the position of Engineering Specialist within the Division of Engineering.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
Manages and supervises the administrative functions of the department, which do not require the attention of the Director. Responsible for operation, maintenance and purchase of computer hardware and software in the Engineering Division. Required to make independent decisions while completing large, diverse, and complex tasks with minimal supervision. Reports to the City Engineer, and directs the work of Engineering Technicians doing design, survey and mapping work. Researches and compiles information related to public works projects. Supervises, performs, and with minimum supervision, provides over-sight of others in computer aided drafting (CAD) ; producing drawings and maps for public works projects and other City departments.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of an Associates Degree in technical (design/drafting) training, Bachelor Degree preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of AutoCAD and related software for the preparation of construction plans and details, design/drafting training. Minimum of two years' experience in doing surveys and preparing engineering drawings and doing related calculations.
A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
PAY RANGE: $55,000 to $65,000. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
