The City of Bowie Police Department is seeking a qualified professional for the position of Accreditation and Records Manager. This civilian position provides management and oversight to the staff and operation of the police records office. The selected candidate will ensure that the police department’s vital records are maintained, disseminated, protected, and disposed of in accordance with applicable federal, State, and local laws, as well as City and departmental policies.
Additionally, as the Bowie Police Department is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA), the incumbent will work closely with the Chief of Police, the command staff, and other managers and staff throughout the City government for the purpose of maintaining the department’s accredited status, by identifying compliance issues, recommending corrective actions, and assisting the command staff in developing policies and administrative practices consistent with all legal requirements and law enforcement best practices.

SALARY: $89,270 (This is an FLSA exempt position)
